TREY (pronounced, “all caps trey”) is a progressive alt-pop outfit based in Saint Louis. Self-aware, sometimes ironic songwriting revolving around relationships and personal growth lends itself to a sonic blend of programmed electronic-driven music and tight live shows, playing and growing alongside equally energetic, equally-indie bands such as THE WLDLFE and Hardcastle, Vacation Manor and Jet Black Alley Cat. The band has cultivated over 600,000 streams in their first year and a half and strives to make every listener feel valued.
TREY spent much of 2018 touring the Midwest and East Coast to support the release of singles 'Feel' and 'Outofline,' and is gearing up for their spring tour to support January 2019 release 'Fangs.' TREY has been featured on popular indie mag Atwood Magazine (http://atwoodmagazine.com/tool-trey-outofline-song/) and many smaller music blogs as they continue to pick up steam.
“[TREY] are making luscious, ambient pop music akin to their contemporaries The 1975 and LANY. It is our great pleasure to be able to premiere the band’s music video for their single ‘Fangs’. A heart-rending track that explores the complexities of a troubled relationship. The song a sonically all-encompassing slow-burner, filled with lush instrumentation. The band have detailed the concept of the video, sharing 'the music video captures this moody energy across several locations, culminating in a blazing Talking Heads-esque guitar solo visually matched by the fiery demise of an upright piano. The backbone of the creative vision for the video is rooted in rehoused anamorphic cinema lenses from the 1980s, giving a vintage look and livelihood to the project.'”
“TREY are growing up, embracing personal experiences, and finding those little sparks of universality that allow us to relate and understand – to feel what they’re feeling. “Outofline” is a mature pop song full of vulnerability and poignant resolution. A somber farewell, the song helps usher in the next wave of TREY’s artistry as the band invite us to fully dwell in their world – a space where emotional conflict is just another part of being human. While we can’t wait to see where TREY are headed, we’re also happy to bask in their current sounds.”

“TREY seems to know what’s what with this thing called love. And in this second single ‘Feel’, the rolling jazzy guitar work drums up the good that comes with the package.”
